How To Turn A Pool Noodle Into A Gorgeous Christmas Garland
By KRISTY BOWEN
Holiday decorations like garlands can be relatively expensive, costing over $20 for some. Luckily, there’s a cheap DIY solution using pool noodles.
With the pool noodle as a framework for your design, you can add ornaments, greenery, rolled garland, lights, and more to make a garland that rivals premade ones.
While techniques for creating garlands from pool noodles vary according to the creator, many begin by using the foam as a base for adding other materials.
TikTok user @ashmariesavage suggests cutting the pool noodle length-wise to form a perfect piece that fits around your banister and is then secured in place by zip ties.
Use hot glue to adhere ornaments and sprigs of greenery to the noodle until it’s fully covered. This hack also works on your mantel and can easily be adapted for Christmas.
You can also cover your pool noodle in fabric like velvet or burlap to hide it, or wrap chicken wire around it as a way to stick in florals without puncturing the foam.
