How To Use Aluminum Foil To Help Your Plant Seedlings Thrive
By ZARA M
Plant seedlings need consistent warmth to grow, especially if you live in a cooler climate. Luckily, there’s a budget-friendly "seed incubator" you can make using aluminum foil.
Line a shoebox with aluminum foil, shiny side up, leaving about 2 inches to fold over the sides. Make drainage holes in the base with a screwdriver through the foil and the box.
Fill the box halfway with a potting mix, push the seeds in slightly, and sprinkle a thin layer of soil to cover. If the direct sunlight, water little and often so it doesn't dry out.
The foil inside the box will insulate to hold the heat in the soil, while the foil folded over the outside will reflect light onto the young sprouts as they emerge.
