How To Use Coffee Grounds To Keep Skunks Out Of Your Yard
By DANIELLE RAMOS-SULLIVAN
Notorious for their foul odor, skunks may enter your garden to find food, water, and shelter. To deter them, simply sprinkle coffee grounds around your garden and the yard.
Skunks find coffee's potent odor unpleasant and will stay away from it. Apply the grounds so they form a thick layer, which helps them stay in place and produce a stronger scent.
If you don't want stray coffee grounds around your yard, put them in coffee filters instead and place them in problematic areas, such as near garbage cans or compost piles.
Distribute coffee grounds every few days, and after rain, as they lose their strength and odor. Mix the grounds with natural repellants like vinegar or garlic for better results.
