How To Use Dish Soap To Control Your Garden's Weeds
By PEG ALOI
Weeds are an unfortunate and inevitable aspect of gardening; however, there are some effective options for weed control. One of them is in your kitchen right now: dish soap.
Mix one teaspoon of soap to one cup of salt and one gallon of white vinegar in a spray bottle. Try to spray the weeds when they’re smaller.
If your weeds have gotten a few inches tall, try cutting them down and then spraying the mixture directly on the cut stem and around the roots of the weeds.
It's good to do this after raining or watering, so it won't be diluted before it works. Use this mixture sparingly to avoid getting it on your edible plants.
