Oils To Keep
Pesky Brown Recluse Spiders At Bay
By PEG ALOI
A mix of vinegar, water,
and any combination of lavender, peppermint, rosemary, lemongrass,
tea tree, and eucalyptus essential oils will help you deter brown recluse spiders.
During the spider season, which is in September and October, combine a cup
of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar with a cup
of water and add 15 to 20 drops of essential oil.
Shake the spray bottle before use and mist the problematic areas, including moist spaces like laundry rooms, under decks, cracks in the wall, garden edging, or cluttered spaces.
Consider spring cleaning to remove dust and debris and discourage spiders before their nesting season begins. Then, spray the area periodically throughout
the summer and fall.
