How To Use Ginger To Banish Ants From Your Home
By ROBYN HUNT
The compounds in ginger root have a pungent scent that disrupts an ant’s ability to communicate and navigate, which makes ginger a great ant repellent.
You can slice the root into small discs and place them near cracks and crevices where ants are coming from, or grate fresh ginger root and leave it in small piles at entry points.
If you only have powdered ginger, that will work, too. Remember that ginger root can stain porous surfaces, so place it on a dish or inside a sachet to avoid direct contact.
If ginger alone isn’t doing the job, topically spray a mixture of ginger, garlic, and water in high ant-traffic areas. Adding a bit of diatomaceous earth to the mix can also help.
