How To Use Vinegar To Keep Your House Clean
By JULIANA LUMAJ
White vinegar is a popular and affordable household staple that is often mixed with other substances to clean surfaces, repel bugs, and remove stains. Recently, countless online tutorials have emerged that showcase various ingenious ways to incorporate this natural solution into your weekly cleaning routine.
Mix equal amounts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture on insect-prone areas like doorways and window sills to repel various insects. The acid in vinegar is harmful to spiders, ants, and mosquitoes, and can be sprayed directly on them to stop them in their tracks.
To clean the bathroom, pour a cup of vinegar into the toilet bowl, leave it overnight, and add some baking soda before giving it a good scrub. For the shower, wipe down the walls every five minutes for about half an hour with boiled vinegar, then scrub with a vinegar-soaked sponge and baking soda.
You can remove stains from clothes by applying vinegar to the spot, rubbing gently, and tossing it in the washing machine. For pet accidents on carpets, mix a cup of distilled white vinegar, water, and a few teaspoons of baking soda in a spray bottle, spray on the stain, and blot the spot after a few minutes with an old towel.
