How Wine Corks Can Give Your Garden Planters An Extra Boost

If your planter lacks drainage holes, it’s vital to create a drainage system within it — a space not filled by potting soil, where air can circulate, and water can flow through.
While many turn to rocks for this purpose, wine corks are an effective alternative. They naturally insulate against compacted soil and foster spaces for root growth and water flow.
To implement this, layer the bottom of your container with natural wine corks before adding potting soil and plants or seeds. Just remember to steer clear of plastic
wine corks.
