How Your Old Glass Jars Can Double Your Houseplant Collection
By ANDREA MARVIN
The clear walls of a glass jar make it the perfect candidate for holding plants. Keep an eye on their roots and monitor the soil moisture with ease while elevating your home decor.
Due to their small size, most herbs like basil or parsley will flourish in glass jars. For easy access while cooking, mount the jars on your kitchen wall in an area with full sun.
Alternatively, grow plants with healing capabilities, like aloe vera or lavender, around the house to improve your well-being. Both prefer sandy, loamy soil and plenty of sun.
Since the jars don’t have good drainage, only water when the soil is dry and dump out excess puddles that form on top. Add cute labels to keep track of your different plants.
