Hummingbirds Will Love This Chip-And-Dip Bowl DIY Idea
By EZEKIEL MAINA
If you want to attract hummingbirds to your yard, a bird bath is a must. Instead of splurging on a store-bought one, you can create your own using Dollar Tree’s chip-and-dip bowl.
All you need is a chip-and-dip bowl, a flowerpot or bucket, a soldering iron, scissors, rubber tubing, and a submersible solar pump. The pump can be purchased from Walmart for $11.
First, use the soldering iron to create a hole in the middle of the bowl the same size as the rubber tubing. Then, burn some extra holes around the outer dip section as well.
Next, connect your pump to the rubber tubing using the provided funnel. Slide the funnel piece through the bowl’s center hole to attach it to the rubber tube beneath the bowl.
Add rocks for the birds to perch on, and place the completed bath in an area with enough sunlight for the solar pump to work while still being surrounded by the safety of trees.
