If Your Succulents Look Like This, Don't Bring Them Inside This Fall
By ROCHELLE HEATH-HARRIS
Before bringing your succulents inside for the fall, check for the signs of a fungus gnat infestation so you don't accidentally infect all your other houseplants.
Succulents attract fungus gnats if their soil is too moist. Since the gnats breed in the soil, turn up soil near the plant's base to see if there are shiny, clear-colored larvae.
If you still aren't sure, cut a couple slices off of a potato, leave them around the base of the plant for a couple of days, and see if the larvae feed on it.
