Custom cabinets are expensive, ranging from $15,000 to $30,000. Luckily, you can save on costs and make your dream cabinets yourself if you’re willing to put in the hard work.
DIYing eliminates labor costs, about a third of the budget. Lumber will set you back $60 per linear foot and tools about $1,300, so your total cash outlay is around $100 per foot.
As shown on @xomacenna's YouTube channel, cabinet-making does take knowledge, but it’s possible to learn the requisite skills if you are determined and willing to invest the time.
For instance, a complicated skill like pocket hole joinery can be learned from a five-minute video, while crafting drawer fronts and precise cutting are matters of practice.
