It's Very Rare To See This Beautiful Hummingbird In Your Garden
By LINDSAY DONALDSON
When you think of hummingbirds, the first image that comes to mind is the flash of color on their chest and wings. So, a white hummingbird will certainly catch your attention.
White hummingbirds lack pigment in their feathers and are considered albinistic or leucistic. Only one in every 30,000 birds has this condition, and they have a short lifespan.
The absence of melanin makes their feathers vulnerable to extreme temperatures. They rarely reach adulthood and are also easily targeted by predators due to a lack of camouflage.
