Kitchen design trends are constantly coming in and out of style, making them hard to predict. In HGTV’s Jenn Todryk’s expert opinion, quartzite counters are the current “hot item.”
When choosing a kitchen counter, factors like appearance, heat and stain resistance, and durability need to be considered. Todryk is drawn to quartzite for its visual appeal.
Unlike similar-sounding quartz, quartzite countertops are made from sandstone, resulting in unique patterns and colors that Todryk favors for their character and movement.
David Bromstad, another HGTV star, loved quartzite so much that he used it in his own kitchen. It should be noted, however, that it requires regular sealing to prevent stains.
