Jennifer Todryk's White Kitchen Design Is Anything But Boring
By NINA ROGOFF
While all-white kitchens remain popular, HGTV’s Jennifer Todryk prefers kitchens with a combination of textures, patterns, and found items that add a sense of personality and fun.
On her website, Todryk explains how her appreciation for what she calls an "organic modern" style is a way to include natural materials such as wood and stone.
If you want to keep your white wall cabinets, you could add natural wood cabinets to the base of an island, use bamboo window shades, and add plants in interesting ceramic pots.
Todryk also likes using a textured plaster technique on a brick wall or on an oven hood to create a homespun vibe, which can be accomplished with a stucco look.
The "No Demo Reno" host also tells HGTV that painting cabinets can dramatically transform the look of a kitchen where everything was white, including the counters and backsplash.
According to Todryk, adding color and texture creates interest and draws your attention around the space. Your kitchen will look inviting instead of cold and sterile.
