When it comes to styling your vent hood and kitchen island as a pair, HGTV’s Joanna Gaines offers up a few different approaches, such as going with a matching accent paint color.
You can do this by encasing your vent hood in the same wood material as your cabinetry and painting the hood and kitchen island siding the same color.
If most of your cabinetry and counters are a light color, Gaines often goes with creating a contrasting effect with a darker hue for the island siding and vent hood.
You can also experiment with textures and materials by staining your vent hood casing and kitchen island, which will create a really distinctive aesthetic with an earthy feel.
For a cooler edge, try an industrial, metallic aesthetic. Pick a metallic finish for your vent hood, and then choose a similar metallic material for the kitchen island siding.
