Joanna Gaines Reveals The Importance Of Using High-Quality Resin Paint
By BROOKE YOUNGER
Resin is an essential ingredient that not only prevents cracking but also binds the paint together, keeping the pigments from separating and helping the paint adhere to the wall.
In a YouTube video, home decorator Joanna Gaines conducts an experiment using two balloons to show the drastic difference between paints with high-quality and low-quality resin.
The first balloon she holds up is covered with lower quality paint. When she snips the top tie, allowing it to deflate, the dried paint instantly crumbles and sheds in her hands.
In contrast, the second balloon Gaines pops, which is dipped in her own Magnolia Home paint, slowly deflates with the flexible paint still adhered to its surface.
She then stretches the deflated balloon in her hands, explaining, "Even when I try to pull it apart, look how strong and durable this paint is."
This demonstrates that high-quality resin paint creates a thicker, stronger seal on walls that will last longer and won’t crumble away under environmental pressure.
