Keep Ants Out Of Your Kitchen With This Simple Cinnamon Hack
By ROBYN TURK
Usually linked with winter and hot beverages, cinnamon can also help against summer pests. It acts as a natural pest repellent and is a nice-smelling way to keep insects at bay.
Cinnamon contains eugenol, a chemical compound used in bug sprays. It repels insects, including ants, and is effective against larger pests like rodents, raccoons, and snakes.
Leave cinnamon sticks on countertops or place them in outdoor storage to repel bugs and mice. Soak cotton balls in cinnamon oil and leave them where you see rodent traces.
TikTok user @brunchwithbabs shares a bug spray recipe using 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 4 cups of warm water, ½ teaspoon of rubbing alcohol, and ½ teaspoon of dish detergent.
