Too many earwigs can ruin your garden because they will start to munch on anything in sight. If you want to get rid of them, try an easy, budget-friendly solution: damp newspaper.
According to Tony O’Neill of Simplify Gardening, "Earwigs can be trapped using damp, rolled-up newspaper [...] placed near the base of the plant at night."
Since the pests are nocturnal and thrive in dark, damp spaces, they will find the newspaper a welcoming environment and hide there. Then, you can dispose of them in the morning.
