Keep Your Hummingbird Feeder Pest-Free With This Ant Moat Trick

Ants adore the nectar in hummingbird feeders, which can be problematic. While some feeders come with built-in ant moats, you can easily make one yourself.
For this DIY project, you’ll need a 1.25-liter plastic pop bottle, a utility knife, a wire cutter, a picture frame wire or a wire hanger, a drill, and a glue gun.
First, section off the top of the bottle using a utility knife. Then, use the wire cutter to snip a straight piece from the picture frame wire or wire hanger.
Use a drill to make a hole through the center of the bottle cap that matches the wire size. Wiggle the wire through the hole, reattach the cap, and fill the cap's inside with glue.
Twist both ends of the wire to form a loop and attach one to the hook of your feeder. Fill your DIY ant moat with water and your hummingbird feeder will finally be safe.
