Keep Your Old Garden Hose For A Functional Storage DIY
By KELLY CATLIN
When your old garden hose is spraying more water from all of its cracks than from its nozzle, turn it into a sturdy DIY basket to store your new hose instead of throwing it out.
Aside from your old garden hose, this easy hack calls for lots of zip ties, plus a sharp pair of scissors to trim them. You can get a pack of 100 green zip ties for $12 on Amazon.
Create the basket’s base by coiling the hose and zip-tying it at each turn. Once the base is big enough, wind the hose upward and zip-tie as you go to create the basket’s sides.
Once you reach the top, make a handle with the remaining hose. Customize your basket with paint or twine, then use it for storage or line it with burlap and use it as a planter.
