Leave Coffee Grounds In A Freshly Painted Room And Watch What Happens
By CARRIE BRADON
When a room is freshly painted, the lingering smell can degrade air quality and pose health risks. However, leaving coffee grounds in the room can neutralize the harmful odors.
To utilize this hack, spread a thin layer of coffee grounds or beans in shallow dishes, like glass containers or metal cookie sheets, and place them throughout the painted room.
Leaving these containers in the room overnight will work wonders. By morning, the harsh chemical odor will be replaced by the rich, welcoming aroma of coffee.
Be sure to use coffee you don't plan to drink afterward since it will absorb the paint fumes. Also, avoid using plastic dishes, as they can become tainted by the fumes.
