Make Hard-To-Reach Cabinets More Functional With This Simple Solution
By CARRIE BRADON
High kitchen cabinets make it a challenge to reach the items you need, but instead of passing up that storage space, there are several ways that you can make them more functional.
The most commonly used solution for accessing hard-to-reach cabinets is to use a step ladder or stool. Keep it behind a door or between the fridge and the wall so it’s nearby.
Pricier options include installing a library ladder if you have many high cabinets or having pull-out toe kick stools made for your kitchen, which stay hidden until you need them.
Another approach is to install pull-down cabinet organizers or maneuverable containers that bring the contents down to you. You can get different sizes for various stored items.
Finally, only store items in higher cabinets that you rarely use so you don’t have to access them often. These can include family heirlooms, holiday platters, or fragile pieces.
