Make Starting Seeds Easier Than Ever With A Simple Bottle Cap
By KELLY CATLIN
To avoid planting seeds too close to the surface, take a tip from TikToker @judybaogarden and use a plastic bottle cap and plastic floss pick to create the perfect amount of space.
Take some hot glue and fill the inside of your bottle cap with enough to keep your floss pick suspended in place. The goal is for your pick to function as a handle.
Once you have the bottle cap assembled, you simply push it into the soil until it's level with the top. In each resulting hole, you then place your seeds and cover them with soil.
Since the best type of lid to use for this hack is the cap from a plastic soda bottle, this hack also reduces waste and repurposes household items.
