Make Your Garden More Attractive To Hummingbirds With Succulents
By CLAIRE DANGALAN
Echeveria, California fuchsia, and aloe vera succulents stand out for their beauty and for their ability to attract hummingbirds to gardens with their nectar-rich flowers.
Echeveria's rosette-shaped leaves and colorful flowers are particularly attractive to hummingbirds, who will eagerly visit the blooms to feed on their sweet nectar.
California fuchsia's tubular, red-orange flowers are a favorite of theirs as well. Their vibrant color and the abundant nectar they provide never fail to draw the tiny birds.
Aloe vera is also a magnet for hummingbirds due to its tall spikes of tubular orange, red, yellow, or pink flowers that hang in clusters and are filled with nectar.
When adding these plants to your garden, make sure to provide them with bright, indirect sunlight or partial shade to prevent any sunburn or leaf damage.
