Nate Berkus Loves This Popular Bathroom Floor Trend

As trends come and go, some bathroom tiles have proven timeless. Although popularized in 20th-century America, checkerboard flooring is still favored by HGTV’s Nate Berkus today.
While checkerboard is usually paired with plain accents to let the flooring shine, Berkus proved the design can also play well with bold statements by adding texture and color.
He included zellige tiles in the shower, a plant on the vanity, and marble on the counters and shower step. Each item adds dimension to the checkerboard without overpowering it.
