Never Break This Essential Lawn Mowing Rule If You
Want A
Healthy Yard
By V BAWA
Along with the right routine for fertilizing and watering, one crucial tip for a luscious yard is to follow the one-third rule, which tells you exactly when to mow your lawn.
The one-third rule works like this: If you're trying to maintain your lawn at 3 inches — the right length to keep it generally — you would mow it when it's around 4 ½ inches tall.
This prevents stress and promotes photosynthesis for healthy growth. Mow when it’s dry, in one direction, and with sharp blades, as this develops roots and thickens grass blades.
