In the episode, couple Amy and Scott asked Hall and Bender to redesign their fireplace, and all seemed to be going well until the interior designers returned with tile samples.
They found that the couple had used their own contacts to refurbish the fireplace. Amy and Scott then shared they wanted a bar in the same room, and the designers agreed to help.
However, Amy and Scott decided to source outside contractors, breaking HGTV protocol and potentially hurting the designers’ feelings by disregarding their advice for the bar.
Fans were disappointed the couple bypassed Hall’s design advice, and on the HGTV Instagram post for the episode, one user wrote that the couple should “trust your designer.”
