Organize Your Closet With Old Shoeboxes. Here's How
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
A messy closet makes it hard to find what you need in a hurry, but with a few inexpensive shoeboxes, you can neatly organize your clothing and accessories on shelves or in drawers.
These cardboard boxes are more eco-friendly than plastic storage bins, and you don't have to spend extra to get them. There are also plenty of ways to upgrade them aesthetically.
You can paint them, cover them with contact paper or wrapping paper, or decorate them with ribbons or stickers. You can also label them to further organize your belongings.
Line closet shelves with them to hold belts, watches, small handbags, scarves, hats, or socks. You can also use them inside drawers as dividers since they’re easy to cut to size.
Shoeboxes are also ideal for storing clothing that's out of season or that you don't wear often. They can then be tucked away in a corner of the closet or on hard-to-reach shelves.
