Two popular options for flooring are luxury vinyl plank and engineered hardwood. Find out the pros and cons of each, and decide which one is the best choice for your home.
Luxury vinyl plank flooring has six or more layers of material built up to create one solid plank of material. It reduces bacteria growth, is easy to clean, and may be waterproof.
Engineered hardwood flooring is 100% natural wood on top and five or more layers of plywood pressed together. It’s a fraction of the cost of traditional hardwood.
Maud Swalens, the senior marketing manager at COREtec, shares with House Digest in an exclusive interview that, of the two options, luxury vinyl planks offer many benefits.

While engineered hardwood and laminate floors are water resistant, luxury vinyl floors like COREtec’s are fully waterproof, which is helpful in bathrooms, kitchens, and basements.
