Pinterest Has A Clever Way To Upcycle Old Garage Doors In Your Garden
By TIFFANY SELVEY
If you’ve replaced your garage doors, Pinterest users have shared a resourceful way to keep your old ones out of a landfill by upcycling them into garden beds that cost nothing.
Most single-door panels are 8 or 9 feet wide and 18 to 24 inches tall, which is ideal for raised beds. Double doors are 16 or 18 feet wide, so you’ll need to cut them in half.
Simply cut an 8-foot panel in half to use for each end, making the raised beds about 4-by-8 feet. You'll need a 4-by-4 piece of wood cut to the height of the panel for each corner.
Screw both sides of the garden bed to the 4-by-4 in the corners to make a box. Then, paint the panels with metal paint, or add a stained wooden frame for a little extra outlay.
