Plant This Gorgeous Tree To Attract Hummingbirds To Your Yard
By KALEIGH BRILLON
If you’re on the hunt for beautiful flowers to give your garden a pollinator boost and attract hummingbirds and butterflies, try planting the gorgeous Hong Kong orchid tree.
These trees can grow up to 40 feet and are covered in clusters of sweet smelling purple, pink, and magenta flowers. Also, landscapers love them because they don't have seed pods.
This is due to the flowers being sterile. You can plant this tree along paths and roads to create shady arches, and you won't have to deal with sweeping away their droppings.
If you want pollinators, simply keep your orchid tree happy, which isn’t hard to accomplish. These trees can tolerate sunny or shady conditions, but the more sun, the better.
They’re tolerant of drought and most soils that drain well, whether it be clay, loamy, sandy, or acidic. The more alkaline the soil is, though, the less happy your tree will be.
