Prevent Messes When Painting A Door With This Pool Noodle Hack
By KELLY CATLIN
When painting doors in your home, you can use a pool noodle to prevent someone from accidentally touching the wet paint and to remind yourself which doors have had a second coat.
Simply cut a hollow noodle into 1-inch rings and slide them onto the handles of doors with wet paint. Use a different color noodle to indicate which doors have been painted twice.
Ensure the rings are thin enough so they don't touch the wet paint. To avoid smudging the paint, add the rings onto the handles after an hour when the paint is dry to the touch.
The noodle rings slide easily onto lever-style door handles, but for round doorknobs, you'll need to cut each ring across one edge so you can open it and fit it over the handle.
