Prevent Weeds From Growing In Gravel With A Simple Solution
By William Cennamo
The easiest way to keep weeds from growing in your gravel is to add more gravel. Doing so every summer or spring will prevent batches of weeds that try to come in every year.
The extra gravel layer will make it harder for weed seeds to take root by blocking sunlight from reaching the soil below and keeping existing weeds from spreading through the gaps.
One or two inches of gravel will be thick enough for the job. Hand-pull large weeds in your gravel, level it out, and evenly spread new gravel, raking the whole area occasionally.
