Reach For This Kitchen Scrap For A Happy And Healthy Christmas Cactus
By DANIELLE RAMOS-SULLIVAN
If you’re planning to incorporate a Christmas cactus into your home this holiday, know that it can benefit from a little something extra to help it bloom: plain old coffee grounds.
To use coffee grounds on your Christmas cactus, start by collecting your used dregs in a container. Be sure to dry wet grounds first before adding them to the dirt to prevent mold.
Once dried, pour a teaspoon or two around your Christmas cactus, then work it into the dirt to disperse the nutrients evenly in the soil. Aim to add dregs every two to four weeks.
Remember to water your cactus after adding the coffee grounds and avoid overusing the grounds, as too much can throw the soil balance out of whack and harm your plant.
