Cat pee has a strong scent and can penetrate deep into a mattress, making it hard to get out. The easiest solution to is to use baking soda, white vinegar, and an enzyme cleaner.
The first step is to absorb as much of the cat pee from the surface as possible. Pour some baking soda directly onto the wet portion of the mattress to draw out the moisture.
Then, use a vacuum to pull up the baking soda before it dries fully. Repeat this process, letting the baking soda remain for a few minutes to soak up more of the cat pee.
Do this several times until the baking soda no longer changes color. This method works well to remove the actual cat pee, but you’ll need an enzyme cleaner for the smell.
Enzyme cleaner tackles those remaining odors by getting rid of the ammonia and other elements present in cat pee. Follow the product’s specific directions for using it.
Then toss all bedding, including pillows or nearby blankets, into the wash. Use a liquid laundry detergent and add a cup of white vinegar
to help remove the scent.
