Remove Oil Stains From Fabric With One Simple Salt Hack
By MACY SEARS
If you have an oil stain on your clothes, salt can help remove it. It acts as an absorbent agent to draw out and remove oil from fabrics to prevent stains from spreading further.
Any salt will do, including kosher salt, table salt, and sea salt. Start by wiping away any extra grease with a clean paper towel or cloth, then dampen the area with water.
Generously sprinkle the salt over the entire oil mark, ensuring it is completely covered. Gently massage the salt into the fabric and leave it for 10-15 minutes.
Brush off the salt grains from the fabric and wash the garment as usual. For stubborn stains, enhance the effectiveness of the salt by combining it with dish soap.
