When Halloween rolls around, the Mason jars you’ve been collecting will come in useful as low-cost night lights with the addition of colored tissue paper and a flameless candle.
You’ll need a paintbrush, white school glue, tissue paper, scissors, and a flameless candle. Choose a creepy character to recreate, like a white ghost or an orange jack-o-lantern.
Cut the tissue paper into small squares, then cover the outside of the jar with glue and the tissue squares. Once dry, add a face using googly eyes, acrylic paint, or stickers.
Put the candle inside and decorate the lid — for example, add a hat for a witch or pom poms for a mummy. Kids will love the ghostly glow of the candle shining through the tissue.
