Save Your Old T-Shirts To
DIY The
Most Unique Bathroom Rug
By TESSA HAYLEY HELLBERG
To make a fun, personalized bathroom rug, grab some of your old t-shirts, and purchase a slip-resistant rug pad and a crochet hook (or you can use a pencil or skewer instead).
You'll need around six t-shirts, preferably absorbent, natural cotton ones since your feet will be wet or very damp, but polyester t-shirts will do if that's all you have.
For the rug pad, consider a grid-style one, like Gorilla Grip's 2-by-3 foot pad, available on Amazon for $10.90, which you can cut smaller if you need to.
Cut the shirts into 1 inch wide by 5 inches long strips. Then, use the crochet hook to slide the fabric through the rug pad grid, and tie the ends together on the up-facing side.
If your shirts are different colors, design a fun pattern before knotting them. It's easy to redo if you need to, and you can even dye the strips of fabric before starting again.
