Solve Your Cockroach Problem With One Handy Cleaning Staple
By ROSE OKEKE
If you find a few cockroaches in your house and are fresh out of a roach killer, grab a bottle of Lysol instead. The cleaning staple will work as a pesticide against the roaches.
Though Lysol is a household disinfectant that doesn't contain pyrethroids, ingredients that kill cockroaches in a flash, it can still cause them to suffocate.
Roaches have a unique respiratory system that allows them to breathe through openings in their bodies called spiracles. Lysol can coat their body and cover these breathing ports.
Shake the Lysol bottle well and position it about 18 inches from the target before spraying. Saturate the roach with it to ensure it suffocates, and sweep it away once dead.
