Steer Clear Of Using This Product On Granite Countertops
By SANDY BAKER
Using vinegar on granite countertops is not recommended due to its acidic nature, which can compromise the protective sealant that guards the stone against moisture and staining.
Vinegar and other acidic substances, such as lemon juice, can cause etching or tiny scratches on the granite surface, leading to weakened areas that allow stains
and discoloration.
Even diluted vinegar poses a risk, so it is crucial to avoid acidic cleaners. To safely clean granite countertops, use a soft, dry cloth to scrub away any residue from
the surface.
Then, mix a few drops of soap with a gallon of warm water, and apply this solution to the surface with a clean, soft cloth. Rinse with a clean, wet cloth and then let it air dry.
