Stop Weeds From Growing In Cracks With This Common Pantry Item
By NATALIE FRANCISCO
If you want to stop pesky weeds from growing in cracks in your pavement or cement walkway, a humble pantry staple offers a simple and effective solution:
baking soda.
To utilize this hack, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of baking soda directly on each weed. An easy way to do this is to spread the baking soda on the pavement and sweep
it into the cracks.
Another approach is to create a potent spray by mixing 1½ cups of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice and adding this mixture to 1 gallon of water.
Transfer the solution to a spray bottle and apply it directly to the weeds, reapplying weekly to prevent new growth. When using baking soda, cover nearby plants to prevent damage.
