The 4 Best Ways To Get Fingerprints Off Stainless Steel
By NATALIE FRANCISCO
Kitchens are full of stainless steel appliances as they are resistant to rust, durable, and hard to stain, but they can easily be covered in fingerprints. To keep your appliances looking new, you should regularly clean and polish them. while avoiding harsh abrasives, bleach, or steel wool.
Dish Soap
Add a couple of drops of dish soap to a bowl of water, and once it’s dissolved, submerge a microfiber towel, wring it out, and wipe down your surface. Before the water dries and leaves water spots, wipe away the solution with a dry towel, and polish.
Vinegar
To clean with white vinegar, you can simply pour some onto a microfiber cloth and wipe down your appliance. However, you can also add vinegar to a spray bottle with water, essential oils, or olive oil that will clean and polish your stainless steel at the same time.
Commercial Products
You can purchase stainless steel cleaners, but they can be pricey; instead, using window cleaner is a cost-effective option. Bar Keepers Friend also works as a stainless steel cleaner, so pour a small amount of powder onto a damp cloth, then wipe, rinse, and dry.
Olive Oil
After cleaning your appliances, you’ll want to polish them, and olive or baby oil works great. Pour a few drops onto a microfiber cloth, wipe in the direction of the lines on the surface, then buff, and wipe away any oily residue.
