The Best Way To Store Your Cleaning Vinegar
By MICHELE WANKE
To ensure the longevity and efficacy of cleaning vinegar, it should be stored in a cool, dark place away from direct heat and sunlight, such as in a basement cabinet.
Keep the vinegar in its original glass or plastic container. Avoid transferring it to an iron, tin, brass, or copper vessel, as this may trigger corrosion or leaching.
When using the vinegar, minimize the time the bottle remains open to reduce oxygen exposure. As soon as you're done, seal the cap back on tightly to keep it as fresh as possible.
Avoid storing vinegar in unheated areas like garages during cold seasons, as temperature fluctuations can lead to condensation inside the bottle, which might dilute its acidity.
