The Biggest Flop From Christina Hall
& Tarek El Moussa's HGTV Show
By KELLY WELTON
In an episode titled "Big Lot Little Flip" from Season 3 of HGTV's "Flip or Flop," hosts Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa encountered what turned out to be their
biggest flop.
They purchased a small, dilapidated house in a remote area for $272,000 without any inspection or inside viewings — a common practice for them at the time.
The duo invested an additional $105,000 in renovations, opting for high-end materials like porcelain tiles and overlooking crucial aspects such as the exterior and landscaping.
To see a profit, Hall and El Moussa needed to sell the house for at least $400,000, yet unfortunately, the best comp in the area came back at $389,000.
Despite their extensive experience and previous successes, this investment failed to yield returns, ultimately costing them $3,300 after covering the buyer's closing costs.
