Celebrity couple Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent each have their own distinct approach to design, but there's one trendy home feature neither HGTV star can stand: accent walls.
On Instagram, Berkus said, "I think that accent walls show a lack of commitment, and I think it's very difficult to actually do a bold color in an open floor plan."
Instead, the design duo recommends creating some drama with a more committed approach, like painting your walls black and adding interest with creative décor.
You can also try the antithesis to accent walls: color drenching. This trendy method involves painting walls, ceilings, and even trim with one color for a boldly cohesive look.
