The DIY Ceiling Upgrade That Will Set Your Home Apart From The Rest

Julie Sousa, who goes by @the_avantgarde on TikTok, shared an easy way to update a ceiling by applying peel-and-stick tiles that look like wood.
The look adds texture and warmth instead of a stark white painted ceiling. Vinyl planks apply like stickers and are thin enough to be cut with scissors.
Sousa used the Norway Oak style of Smart Tiles, which cost $22.99 per sheet. Covering a 10-foot by 10-foot ceiling would cost a little more than $1,900.
You can use alternative materials to get a similar look for less. ACHIM's peel-and-stick vinyl plank flooring from The Home Depot is $2.23 per square foot.
