The Durable Tree That Can Thrive In Damp Weather Conditions
By CHARLOTTE SEARS
If your land often features standing water, occasional flooding, or waterlogged soil, then the long-lasting bald cypress tree may be the perfect addition to your swampy yard.
Bald cypress trees thrive in naturally wet areas with consistently moist earth. While they can grow in a range of soils, their classic knobby “knees” won’t form in dry conditions.
This adaptable and resilient tree can grow in USDA Zones 4a-9b. When planting, choose an area with full sun or partial shade and plenty of space for the massive tree to thrive.
