The Easy Ornament Trick That Will Make Your Home Smell Like Cinnamon
By JAHAIRA ARTHUR
Cinnamon salt dough is a budget-friendly DIY Christmas tree ornament. You can create these eco-friendly and aromatic ornaments as a fun holiday activity with your loved ones.
The ancient recipe calls for cinnamon, salt, flour, water, a string for hanging, and festive cookie cutters. Begin with one cup each of ground cinnamon, salt, flour, and water.
In a medium bowl, mix your dry ingredients before pouring in the water, and kneading to form a ball. You can also add your favorite essential oil to boost the holiday smell.
Next, sprinkle a flat surface with flour and roll the dough into a sheet ¼-inch thick. Then use cookie cutters or molds to shape your ornaments, or simply cut out a trace with a knife.
Create a small hole with a straw or skewer where the string will hang before baking them at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour. Once cooled, tie the string to hang the ornaments.
