Erin Napier, the star of HGTV’s "Home Town," noted in an interview that rather than seeing materials like wood painted over in a home, she prefers natural wood designs.
As aesthetics lean more into traditional decor, Napier's preferences are very on trend. She explained in a PopSugar interview that "The organic movement in wood grain is art!"
The natural grain of wood creates dimension and texture all on its own, while painted finishes take away from the warmth brought by organic materials.
This trend allows you to dig into secondhand pieces and inexpensive furnishings. If you already own a nice vintage wood piece, turn it into a focal point within your home.
